20th July, Monday

SSM was fun again, but this time round, it's TCC, so only one word to describe - SLACK. It's to the extent where I really miss the rushing and stress in Toptable! Did wine service practise and then went for a lunch break that lasted for around an hour. I would call it a group bonding session, haha, everyone was laughing as George shared his "Project Evolution" I swear it's freaking funny: "You know its like i turned around and Cupid just shot me with his arrow." LOLICOPTER! After the break, we went back to practise order taking and table setting. That was followed by the wine service test, which I did fine. Caesar Salad demostration was after SSM, where we learnt to make the simple appetiser:

That is the famous Mr. TeddyBowTieSuspender Goh taking out the lettuces:

Explaining and demostrating the procedures for the making the Caesar Salad:

A blurry picture of the made-on-the-spot salad:

Next up, students' turn to try! Lucky Stephanine:

Her salad tasted pretty delicious as well, haha. After her, it's another lucky fella's turn. As always, I tried to sabo other people, this time round, Noel. But you know, there's something called karma in this world and it happened on me. Mr Goh appointed me to try next instead. Well, I went up to the trolley like some expert chef (self-proclaimed), then started mixing here and there. I would say the procedures were quite smooth for me, like duh, Im armed with close to 10years of cooking experience. I cooked my first bowl of maggie mee at an age of 8 okay! But the final salad was kinda spicy, oops, added too much tobasco sauce. Hahaha.
Overall, the demostration is educating and entertaining. Didn't regret going.

21st July, Tuesday

Shangri-La Hotel Restaurant Buffet for Auntie's birthday!
Being a service staff myself, of cause I can't help it but see how this so called "good" restaurant's service standard fairs. Well my verdict is: Pretty Okay. Waiters were well groomed, they were always smiling, they used the Toptable clearing method, they were friendly, approachable and pretty helpful I would say. But they forgot a few things here and there, human errors though, forgivable.
Lazy to narrate much, let the pictures do the rest of the talking.

Ice-cream counter:

Yah yah, you bimbos love this (and yes, im stereo-typing):

Attack of the oysters.
First time see so many different types:

Attack of the deserts!
Many of them can be found in Sugarloaf, just that the portion here is smaller:

The rest of food is pretty common, didn't bother to take pictures. Food wise, a little above average. Not say imbaly delicious or what, Sugarloaf desert can fight with them man. If not for the discount, the original price would cost SG$68++ per pax, which is around SG$81 NETT. Will not ever be stepping in there again unless there's discount, not really worth the money for me.

Ending with some random pictures of the
Shangri-La Hotel Singapore Restaurant:

Accounting mugging session tomorrow! Plus Katong Astons with Rachel and Co!
